TRACE VIRETH

Terms of use

What Vireth is, and what it is not

Last updated 24 September 2026. By using TRACE Vireth you agree to these terms.

Not affiliated with any government, police force, regulator, or bank.

TRACE Vireth is an independent service from TRACE Risk Advisory. Where it names public bodies, helplines, or rules, it does so to point you to official sources. That does not mean those organisations endorse or work with Vireth.

What Vireth does

Vireth compares what you tell it with known patterns of scams and account takeovers, explains what it finds, and suggests safe next steps. It uses transparent, human-written rules, not a machine-learning model. It is free to use.

It is guidance, not a guarantee

Vireth only knows what you tell it. It cannot see messages, calls, or accounts, cannot confirm who anyone is, and can be wrong in both directions. A result that finds no known pattern does not mean something is safe. Please use your own judgement, and check anything important directly with your bank or the organisation involved, using contact details you find yourself.

Vireth is not legal, financial, or professional advice, and it does not replace the police, emergency services, your bank, or a lawyer. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.

You make the decisions

Every decision, including whether to pay, report, or ignore Vireth’s advice, is yours. Vireth never contacts anyone, reports anything, or takes any action on your behalf.

No records

Vireth does not keep a record of your checks, and what it shows you on screen is not evidence. If you may need evidence for your bank, the police, or an ombudsman, take screenshots of the messages, keep your call log, and keep your bank statements yourself.

Rights and helplines

Information about helplines and consumer rights was checked against official sources on the date shown in the code and on the governance page. Numbers and rules change, so confirm with the official source before relying on them.

Acceptable use

Please don’t use Vireth to harm, harass, or deceive anyone. Security researchers are welcome to test it and report weaknesses to [email protected].

Responsibility

We work hard to make Vireth accurate and safe, but we provide it as it is. To the extent the law allows, TRACE Risk Advisory is not responsible for losses arising from decisions made using it. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be limited.
